Ron Dayne vs. Joe Echemandu
I'm sure you've heard by now, Ron Dayne gets the start. Can someone give me some insight into what Kubiak is thinking, and as to when Echemandu will get his chance to carry the load?
Re: Ron Dayne vs. Joe Echemandu
half way through the game eche SHOULD see more time....when we are throwing the ball every down and ron dayne is getting his mealy 2 ypc we should see eche in there...JMO
Re: Ron Dayne vs. Joe Echemandu
I think him starting is a respect thing but IMO they will share the load equally.

I've come to the conclusion that Kubiak doesn't know when to give up on Dayne. The most I am hoping for is an even split of the carries.
Fortunately, our already good passing game is about to get 100x better with the return of Andre Johnson and a healthy Matt Schaub. That should help the run game.

Re: Ron Dayne vs. Joe Echemandu
Well, maybe . just maybe, kubiak knows something about Dayne. He was a great back when in shape. If you look at Ron Dayne pictures in week one and now look at pictures of Ron Dayne in week 9.............you will see an extremely toned down , more athletic version- not close to his early days with...(NY? it think?)where he was the epitomy of what a RB should look like. Sure he let himself go ..but since Green has been hurt...and Dayne has had 10 weeks to know he might play...it appears to me that he has really improved his body and his stamina and he looks like he will be fine tomorrow ..in my opinion.
I have been hard on Dayne in the past also...so i am looking at this with a little realism...but he looks to me to be improving his game a lot! We won last(edit..two weeks ago i meant) week and he played great..only running into the back of his blocker once and he cut off right after. Come on now. We need this. After the game if Dayne plays poorly..then we can grieve. But now is the time to hop aboard the DAYNE TRAIN! Now Boarding. ALL ABOARD! Just love these smileys.

Re: Ron Dayne vs. Joe Echemandu
True he does see dayne daily unlike us. I trust Kubes and so far Dayne actually has not cost us the game and rarely gets negative yardage and more rare still fumbles so I guess he's not that bad. hmmmmmm.... that's a thinker

Re: Ron Dayne vs. Joe Echemandu
I have to eat a lot of crow. I really have to give it to Dayne, he is the most reliable RB on our roster. He's never hurt and doesn't turn the ball over. Green only rushes for .2 more yards than Dayne on average. I've come to like Dayne. At least we know that he'll able to play and wont drop the damned ball.
Re: Ron Dayne vs. Joe Echemandu
ya i concur that dayne has become reliable...i wish he was quicker...that seems to be his downfall
Re: Ron Dayne vs. Joe Echemandu
How did you all like the ride on the Dayne Train Toaday? Oh yeah! What no train smiley?
Now you all see what i mean. Dayne is almost back in top form with his conditioning.
I hated to jump out on a limb about Dayne but he is what we have and he doesn't deserve the criticism he has gotten lately. Now at the beginning of the year...yes..he was not in shape and couldn't help us. But we are seeing a very different Ron Dayne.
Yeah for Dayne!
oh yeah...i tole ya so. Ha!

We need a RB in the worst way this offseason. in the WORST way.

Re: Ron Dayne vs. Joe Echemandu
I agree. Ron Dayne is only a quick fix. Not a solution to our RB woes. I'm glad RD is looking better but he still can not be considered a top number 1 back. He is a good back up when in shape and holds onto the ball. We can expect him to fall forward and stuff but we do need a back who can break it all the way if given a hole and some open field. I expect we are scouting RB's for next years draft. It is one of our positions where we could use some upgrade.

Re: Ron Dayne vs. Joe Echemandu
I think we have the solution in Walker, Joe, and Taylor.
